Thanks Clarens Xtreme
|
Hi Clarens Xtreme,
Thanks for your email finalising details. I only received it on my return after our trip, because I was busy with all the other arrangements last Wednesday afternoon when you sent it. Thanks for helping out with the cutlery and crockery and I think the Wagons worked out fine. The trip was an enjoyable success from our side. Clarens is a beautiful area and the cyclists certainly saw the best of it. As a guide Ollie was great and the rafting was a real bonus. Thanks for your and Detmar’s assistance as well and all the very best for the numerous projects you have planned for the year ahead. |

CX assist with Fundraising for community policing project
THE CLARENS MACNOLLIE CHALLENGE The famous Royal MacNab challenge normally takes place during a weekend in June in the Lady Grey area with the aim to raise funds for the employment of guards to protect local farms (on foot) from stock theft. Participants (maximum of 26) must complete three disciplines i.e. shoot a Mountain Reedbuck, shoot a Grey-wing Francolin and catch a Trout (in any order) within 12 hours. Clarens on the other hand is known as ‘The Jewel of the Eastern Free State’ and attracts many tourists and local visitors due to its central geographical location with breathtaking natural beauty, top rated accommodation, world renown art galleries, niche restaurants, unique shops and outdoor activities galore. Because of these assets home owners, businesses and residents embarked on a need for a Sector Police Forum (SPF) which was formed some four years ago and registered as a non-profit entity. Consisting of volunteers only, they serve the greater Clarens community to maintain the reputation of Clarens as a safe and crime free tourist destination. While financial support for the initiative from the local business owners and private individuals are enthusiastic and ongoing, the biggest challenge remains funding. One such initiative for fund raising is the Clarens Macnollie. Please follow link for further info: http://www.macnollie.co.za/ |
